Lady Tigers defeat Destrehan 10-3, push winning streak to 15

BOUTTE, LA – The Hahnville High School Lady Tigers softball team scored early and often in their game against the Destrehan High School Lady Cats en route to a 10-3 victory. After picking up a run in each of the first two innings to lead 2-0, the Lady Tigers added six in the bottom of the third to take a commanding 8-0 lead. The Lady Cats could have gotten out of that inning unscathed, but a pair of defensive mistakes in left field and another at second base allowed the floodgates to open for Hahnville.

The Press Play Productions Player-of-the-Game was the Lady Tigers’ Hannah Borne, who made the most of her spot-start in right field, delivering an RBI single in the 2nd inning and following up with a three-run-homer in the 3rd to seal the deal for the Lady Tigers.

The Lady Cats were able to touch up Hahnville’s Karly Taranto for three runs, but the ace who has been nearly unhittable during the team’s now 15-game win streak was able to work her way in and out of trouble the rest of the night.

The game was broadcasted by Press Play Productions, a student-run production team led by Team Members in the Advanced Television Broadcasting course at the St. Charles Parish Public Schools Satellite Center in Luling, LA. The crew consists of juniors and seniors from Destrehan High School and Hahnville High School.
