The Advanced TV Broadcasting Class

Tah'niya Baptiste, Team member

The Advanced TV Broadcasting Class, also known as ATVB, is a project-based course offered at the Satellite Center in Luling, Louisiana. If you plan on majoring in Mass Communications or something similar then this is the class for you! It is mandatory to take TV Productions before you take ATVB. You are given the chance to certify in Adobe Premiere Pro and make money while filming outside of class. Any event that is located in St. Charles Parish can be filmed. You need 25 service hours each semester to pass the course. Team members film events like football games, volleyball games, band and choir performances, and plays.

Tah’Niya, a team member in the Advanced Tv Broadcasting class, stated that, “Working with other classes helped us deal with managing our time, deal with ameteur acting, and having to talk to people you don’t know.” Having to come up with quick solutions to problems would benefit you in the long run. Madison, a team member in the Advanced Tv Broadcasting class, stated that, “I would definitely recommend Advanced TV Broadcasting to anyone because it does give you a spectrum of what actual broadcast and news stations offer.” When you go to college or work in a field relating to mass communications, nothing will be brand new and you won’t feel lost.
