A garden near the entrance of the Hahnville High School baseball field has been dedicated to the school’s very first baseball and football coach. Willis led Hahnville to its first baseball state championship in 1948, then the school’s first football state championship in 1949.

Hahnville High School administrators were joined by Willis’s daughter, Karen during the dedication ceremony, as well as the school’s baseball team and others who knew Coach Willis.
