The River Parish Community College planned to have their new location in St Charles Parish up and running by August 2020. January 19th, 2021 the college finally opened to the public. They are now accepting students for the Spring 2021 semester.

United way funded this new construction in hopes of helping the Parish residents who utilize the Reserve campus. This would be a huge and helpful change for parents without child care and students without transportation to Reserve.

“Covid kind of helped us in that respect, we actually got to get students before the building was finished.” said Campus Director, Penelope Shumaker. Although there was no building, classes still took place online. They were able to get students started before coming into the building.
