The restaurant Boiled Seafood House  and many other businesses in New Orleans have been negatively affected by coronavirus. When the city of New Orleans went back to Phase 1 in early January many factors in business were affected including: social interactions, employee’s pay, and more.

Manager at Boiled Seafood House, Gabriel Garcia said, “Since the pandemic started we’ve all had to have basically personal protective equipment: masks, gloves as well as social distancing”, which is advised by the CDC. “Wearing a mask and trying to keep people separate in a party environment obviously is going to have its challenges”, said Karoline Watson.

Many other employees give their input on what the clientele looks like. Dionna Ducote said, “We don’t have as much clientele so we’re not working as many hours as we normally would”. Other businesses like Johnny White were around for 50 years now permanently closed,  had to close down because the sales on alcohol were low.
