River Parish Community College’s new campus in Boutte, Louisiana welcomed students to the public on January 26th. United Way funded the construction of the college and St. Charles Parish Public Schools funded the furniture in hopes to impact students and the community in a positive way.

“This semester here all of our classes are hybrid, so which means the students will only come one or two days a week and the rest will be online. So it kinda gives them a balance where they could actually spend time with an instructor but still stay home three days a week,” said Dean Penelope Shumaker. When students come to class on-campus they will be temperature checked and have to wear masks.
