April 21, 2020
The Advanced TV Broadcasting class, also known as ATVB, is a project-based course offered at the Satellite Center in Luling, Louisiana. If you plan on majoring in Mass Communication or something similar then this is the class for you! It is mandatory to take TV Productions before you take ATVB. You are given the chance to certify in Adobe Premiere Pro and make money while filming outside of class. Team members film events like football games, volleyball games, band and choir performances, and plays in St. Charles Parish. You need 25 service hours each semester to pass the course, which you can get from working events outside of class.
Tah’Niya, a team member in the Advanced TV Broadcasting class, stated that, “Working with other classes helped us deal with managing our time and having to talk to people you don’t know.” Team members often have to come up with quick solutions in the field that would benefit them in the long run. Madison, a team member in the Advanced TV Broadcasting class, stated that, “I would definitely recommend Advanced TV Broadcasting to anyone because it does give you a spectrum of what actual broadcast and news stations offer.” If you are interested in going to college or working in a field related to Mass Communication, this course will prepare you to do it all.
