SCP Reflection Project

My group and I did a St Charles Parish Commercial that involved Attractions, Plants that are in the parish, Affordability, Restaurants, and the Mississippi River. My group and I had to look for the type of businesses that we were assigned and tried to set up interviews with them, but it got really frustrating because nobody would answer us back. We kept looking until we found the right companies that satisfied us and we went with it. Then my group and I went to go interview the clients that we wanted to go interview and the interviews went amazing especially when we got that first reaction from our clients when we would ask them questions for St Charles Parish. After we went to go record the interviews, we went to go get some footage of the businesses or businesses that fitted our description of the assignment that we were assigned. After we went back to the satellite center to edit our videos that we had and our group leader Lyndsey edited all the videos to make them into one large video that summed up everything of what we did. We had some bumps down the road editing our videos so we got some advise of what would make it better and we accomplished that and we overcame that negative bump.

My thoughts of the whole project were crazy because at first I didn’t know what Mr Corey wanted us to do for the commercial but after when we actually did the project as a group and I got some more clarification of the project, then I was able to understand the overall project. The parts that I  really liked was when everybody was actually working together and we were helping everybody top overcome all the negative energy of the project. The parts that I didn’t like when everybody would get off task including myself and we weren’t doing what we needed to do in class. The parts that I learned was that, when your working in a group project you have to do your share of the project and you can never slack off because if you do then your going to mess not just yourself but everybody else that is in the group with you.

Working for an outside client for the first time was pretty intense because you had no room to mess up and if they didn’t like what we had for them, they wouldn’t come back because they would know that we were going to mess up again. Our group worked really amazing together, we would always get along or we would always make up because of all the negative aspects that were going on and we would help each other out and make sure nobody was left behind. I feel like I contributed a lot but I also became distracted like I wish I could’ve helped out more for the interviews and like I didn’t do stuff that I was suppose to do and then end up doing it last second. My involvement helped the group out in success because I would help everybody would needed it and I also contributed to go get some video for each others project and bring positive energy when things were going really bad or negative.

My video impressed me because at first I didn’t know what was going on and I didn’t have any clue what to do and I just thought to myself that my group would be disappointed because I didn’t know what I was going to be doing but when I got the clarification that I needed then I was going pretty good. I think our groups video was better than other because we really put our hearts into this and we really worked our butts off for it. I think the part that made my video worse is because I didn’t have videos of the bridges that one of the clients said on my video. Other people feedback really make me realize that I have to actually step up and make this the best video I could have ever done. Other people listened to the feedback that I gave to them.

If I were doing this project again I wouldn’t get distracted again and I would do the best that I can for everything that I would do for the project. I think next time you do this project you should instruct it a little bit better. I would tell them that they should ask as many questions as they can and interact with the smartest people in the class to learn everything that they need to know for other or more projects.
