The Outside Commercial project was a commercial for St. Charles Parish Tourism. We came up with key topics that will attract people to come to St. Charles Parish. Some of these topics were Residents, Business, and the history of the parish for example. My group had the Residents segments so we had schools, housing, crime, and the jobs that are in St. Charles Parish. First we wrote a script and came up with questions to ask the interviewer. We then scheduled interviews.  We made a time schedule of the interviews and B-roll. And each of us edit our own segment.

The project was kinda very stressful. The different parts I liked was the different interviews. They said a lot of interesting and enthusiastic things about St. Charles Parish.   The part I did not like was scheduling interviews it was kind of hard getting in touch with people. I learned a lot about St. Charles parish history from this project. Also learned about the typical home buying process from the real estate agent.

Working with a client for the first time wasn’t so bad. It was actually fun working with a client.  My group worked good together. We helped each other through the editing process and with interviews. The challenges we faced were not having enough B-roll. Also some of our footages were lost but we found a way to fix it. I feel like I was very involved in the project. I helped, filmed interviews for my partners. And also helped with the B-roll. My involvement in the group contributed to my groups success because if I wasn’t involve we probably would’ve never accomplish our goal.

My video was housing which met the expectations though it would have been better if we gotten B-roll of different type of housing such as apartments. I wouldn’t say my group video were better or worst than others. All our videos had mistakes that needed to be fix. Receiving feedbacks from others helped the project be better.  They caught certain mistakes that we probably would’ve never noticed. You can tell other groups listened to our feedback because their video were different than before.

If I can do this project over again I would make sure I get more B-roll and also make sure I uploaded all the videos to my laptop.  The project is okay but it can be stressful scheduling interviews. If I can come back and speak about this project to future students I will tell them to make sure they get a lot of B-Roll. Also Make sure you do things on time and not to play around use the time you have appropriately.  This project was very stressful!
