SCP commercial project

In this project my classmates and I worked in three different groups to create videos for the St.Charles Parish Economic development and tourism department to showcase all the wonderful things that this parish has to offer. My group and I were in charge of creating videos for tourism, in the videos we each choose a different aspect of the parish that would attract tourist. My video focused on the rich history of this parish. In order to complete each video we had to get in touch with business and members of the parish to ask to film and interview them, after we completed the filming process we move onto editing where we can get a closer look at each video and see what we need to reshot.

This project proved to be more changeling then projects in the past due to the fact we were working in a professional environment with real world clients. However I enjoyed going out and conducting interviews. The biggest challenge that this project brought forth was having high quality footage that I would be comfortable showcasing to others.  Throughout this project I was able to learn how to get in touch with real world people and work professional with people other than just my classmates.

My group seemed to have a small problem with communication as well as getting work done. I feel as though I worked really well on this project and participated as much as possible

My final product was a bit different then what I first envisioned when it came to opening shots but other then that the video followed very close to what I had in mind. I feel as every video was on parr with classmates videos. Feedback from others helped me catch things that I missed and helped improve the video in numerous ways

If I was able to do this project again I would be sure to be more timely with my work as well as over shot for videos so I will always have enough B-Roll. When this project comes around next year I would suggest to keep the group leader but maybe put groups who have a similar work ethic together so others don’t have to suffer and be brought down by one person. To other students I would be sure to tell them to make sure that you follow the clear instructs on how to film an interview and proper film technic so you don’t have to shot the same thing multiple times
