Pink Links Reflection

Hailey Walthall, Editor, Director, Writer, Producer

I think my groups pink link video turned out really well. We worked hard to edit a quality project and I believe that is what we produced. For this project I was a writer, producer, director, and editor. My group members and I all did a little bit of everything when it came to completing this video. I think our group did its job creating a video that encourages people to buy pink links. We were able to keep pink links a consistent topic throughout our video in order to deliver the message of how you can purchase a pink link. My ATVB crew worked really well together. We all felt comfortable enough to share ideas and opinions, disagree with each other, and come to compromises when we weren’t seeing eye to eye. It was a great group who created a great project. Working with other people who aren’t in our ATVB class was an interesting experience. At first they may not have understood our ideas and our purpose for certain shots or audio clips, but in the end we ended up working well together and getting all of the work done. The most challenging part of the project was getting the people not in ATVB to understand our concept and vision for the project. Our layout for the original presentation was confusing so they may not have liked the idea in the beginning but once we described what we were trying to do, they were on board with our ideas. My favorite part of the project was creating the full screen. Although it was a stressful process for me, I had a lot of fun using text and graphics, audio, and movement to try and present a concept. The full screen was something I worked on by myself so I am extremely proud of what I was able to do. If I could do this project over I would try and have more time to organize our original ideas and concepts. When we first presented our concept for the video not many people liked it because it was poorly described and laid out. We had changed the idea the night before the presentation and it took us a while to get everything put together. More time would have helped my group explain and present our ideas in a better and more understandable fashion. To any team members doing this project next year, my advice is that you shouldn’t be afraid to present new and original ideas. Just because a certain concept you though of hasn’t been done before doesn’t mean it isn’t a good idea, it just means it’s an original one. Share your opinions and let your ideas be considered.
