Scavenger Hunt Project Reflection

Miranda Hall, Camera/Editor

The project my group and I did was basically about PAC (Performing Arts Center). We first did a pan and an establishing shot of the bridge to help show where it is located. We then did a slight preview of the interior of the PAC of a student drinking water. We went back to outside and did a tilt shot. That was the final exterior shot before we went back inside and filmed the inside.

The most important thing I’ve learned through the course of this project is to always work with my teammates and try their ideas along with my own to see which way we like better. This will help me going forward by teaching me how to work better with a group and to try different ideas, even if it’s out of my comfort zone.

I wish we spent more time on transitions and the actual shots so they weren’t as shaking or blurry. I feel like the editing of the video was my best part of the project because I love editing and I’m always looking for new ways to improve my work. The most enjoyable was the editing because like I said, I love editing. The least enjoyable was the going outside to film because I enjoy staying inside for certain things and the camera kept fogging. Next year for the project, I believe you could make more locations and allow more shots to be used. Or allow them to come up with their own type of filming instead of following a list, as long as they get it done and do it correctly.
