Scavenger Hunt Project

Lyndsey Matherne, Camera/Editer

The Scavenger Hunt video we did was a way to start getting familiar with the camera, along with learning to adjust the settings and camera shots. In the video we found different scenes and had to take different shots of the same scene. For example, we had to do a pan shot of a car driving and things such as wide, medium, and tight shots of different objects and scenes. While working on this video I learned the importance of teamwork and getting along with your group members. Trying to accomplish everything on your own would be difficult. Our group divided the work pretty evenly and got along well. It made for a successful, productive group. Although, after looking through the video I wish we would have got more shots of the same scene in order to have more choices to decide upon during the editing process. On the other hand, I think that something I did good was my pan tilt of the performing arts center. It wasn’t exactly what I had envisioned, but I still think it came out good. It was very enjoyable to work with the group I worked with. Right off the bat, we got along. On the first day, we had some issues with our tripod so we had to manually tilt the camera and turn it which was fun because it was complicated to do and led to some funny shots. I think the least enjoyable thing would have been having to stand in the heat. It was very hot when filming. Looking back on the video as a whole when considering what should be done next year for this first project I feel that it was a good project, but only a few things should be changed. Perhaps next year there could be a more diverse list of shots and scenes to film. Other than that I feel it was an enjoyable and good first project for students to begin getting acquainted with the cameras and others.
