Ring Night News Story

LULING,LA- THANKS, on May 8 Hahnville High School will be hosting their annual Ring Night at the Edward Dufresne. Community Center here in St. Charles Parish.

“Basically it’s the night where juniors first get to recieve their ring that they ordered or bought for their senior year” (S. Dwyer).

With all of the kids participating in Ring Night, there are many things that have to be planned for such as getting a head count of the guest who will be in attendance. In an interview with the head of the ceremony, Sean Dwyer, he lets us know that each junior participating will be receiving a limited amount of tickets due to the small venue. He also says that the main thing that has to be taken care of is the organization of not only the Community Center, but the rings as well. This is extremely important because every student must get the proper during the ceremony when they walk across the stage. This event is significant to the current juniors for many reasons.

“It marks the cerimonial so to speak transition from being a junir to being a senior. When students get their rings, it’s all about the pride of showing it off and the exuberance of finally making it to senior year. It’s just kind of a culminating thing for juniors at the end of the year, and it kind of marks their official transition” (S. Dwyer).
