LULING, LA- The Arts Fest is a annual celebration in St. Charles Parish for students who have special visual, theatrical, and musical talents. Some talents include art, music, theatre and much more.

“We are branded as a triple a school system that celebrates academics, the arts, and athletics,” superintendent Felicia Gomez- Walker explains. “We want to make sure that every student has exposure to the arts.”

Destrehan senior Miranda Matise is a member of the school’s color guard

“My favorite part is the equipment,” she told Press Play. “The rifle is my favorite thing because it shows how strong you are and how good you can be.”

This is the last year the celebration will be held at the professional learning center, because next year it will be at the new Doctor Rodney Lafon Performing Arts Center.
