Press Play New: Quarter 1

Phillip Cheramie, producer

Here at Satellite Center, in the ATVB class we challenged ourselves to do something we had never done before. We filmed all of the sports, news, weather, and entertainment segments ourselves and made them from scratch. My role was to help make Mistaken, a short film, by acting, scriptwriting, and producing.

They said that the sound effects and ambiance was good which I agree with. I agree because we spent a lot of time carefully picking and choosing the sound effects in order to make it sound more realistic and more natural sounding. The sounds were an important part of our film because it was without dialogue.

They also said that the footage required better transitions and I definitely agree with this. I agree because some of the transitions were just cut and then it was the next shot. We could’ve improved this through some smoother fading transitions.

I learned that in the film industry deadlines are everything and you need to make every deadline in order to stay onto of the game. If I could restart this project I would definitely make sure of the location before the day of filming and prepare for it better. This would have helped save a lot of time and effort on the part of our film crew.
