Press Play News: Quarter I

Bracey Darensbourg

LULING, LA-

This is my classes Newscast. I participated by helping with the creation of the short film Mistaken. The short film is about a couple of teenagers who go camping and one of the teenagers go missing.

Somethings that my peers liked about the short film was interesting and it made them want a part two. Also, they said that we did really well with audio. I agree with the responses that were given from my peers because my group and I made sure that our short film had a good storyline behind it. We also made sure that the audio was correct due to the use of different sound effects and music. Yet even though we did really well in my eyes, there were some improvements that could have been made.

My peers suggested that we should have had a better climax and falling action. They felt like something else could have been added to the storyline. While I somewhat agree with this, we were only given a limited amount of time to complete the short film. Maybe if we had more time to complete the short film, then we have really developed the plot of the story.

I really enjoyed choosing this concentration for my first quarter. I was able to experience what it is like to be employed in a short film field. I learned a lot of editing tips that could help me when I create other videos. If I could do this project over again, I think I would have tried to help develop the plot of the story more or could have created a part two. These revisions could have made the story come alive more. But I think my group and I did really well considering the fact that this was the first short film that we have ever done.
