Press Play News: Quarter I

Sage Blackledge

LULING, LA – For our Quarter I Newscast, I was involved in creating the short film “Mistaken” with a group of 5 of my peers. Our film was a horror camping short in which three friends go camping but one finds out that there’s more history to their camping site than they previously thought.

My peers overall had good opinions on our sound effects, and I agree that they were essential and a well-done part of our film. Many also liked our plot line.

They said we could’ve had better video quality, which was a major issue that we all had of our video. Also, some thought that there should be more natural sound or background music. I agree; this was a problem we were having with our film. It was hard to line up sounds so that they flowed but weren’t overdone or our songs weren’t too long. They also thought some shots were unnecessary and transitioned oddly, and this was another thing we had a hard time lining up.

I learned that collaboration is essential to completing anything, and especially a project as large as a short film. If I could go back, I would try to keep my group more focused, organized, and delegated in what we were doing at all times.
