Lip Dub Reflection

Sage Blackledge

LULING, LA – I think the Lip Dub was very good. I liked how well we coordinated everything, especially in regard to how our map through the Satellite Center worked out. I do think the PM section ended up looking better, but I feel like that’s more so due to the fact that those students seemed more excited and confident when they were on camera. The transition flowed perfectly, and I do like how the ending came out. I think that this video does advertise the Satellite Center well, however having a better depiction of students in the classrooms working in the future could also be helpful to making the project come out better. We did improve upon the mistakes that we wanted to do better with than previous years classes. The biggest challenge with this project is always communication; even if we have a clear communication with a class, it’s still hard, especially with some not wanting to commit to certain decisions. It can also be hard to delegate to some degree, so it’s very important that all of our class is on the same page with the project. However, I feel like you could barely see this in the video, especially compared to previous years. My biggest takeaway from the project was the importance of this communication as well as an equal dedication in projects of this size and how important these things are. Future ATVB groups should most definitely prioritize planning and communication with other classes, as well as having a set plan with their own group before reaching outwards to other classes. The only big thing that I feel could’ve been done better by Mr. Robinson was the whole music selection process: I feel a days warning and allowing students to have that time to find the best options they can would work better in this major project. Only having a day sort of put us at a disadvantage in making a good choice. Other than that, most of the planning and everything else went as smoothly as possible; we had some issues with the AM section, but I’m not even sure what exactly could be done to fix that. Nevertheless, I feel that the project was a major success and achieved its purpose.
