Lulling, LA- “So I was blocking somebody and it was a week before the first scrimmage and somebody rolled up on my knee and i was on the ground for a few seconds,” Wagner mentioned when asked to run through his play when he got injured

Avery Wagner, a tackle for Destrehan High School, who has undergone a season ending injury that was a torn mcl last year is back and fighting stronger than ever

After being out for over a season in his sophomore year Wagner started every game this year as a junior. He helped protect his quarterback who threw for over 1500 yards yards and 18 touchdowns plus made the proper holes necessary to allow for his running back to rush for 1300 yards and 13 touchdowns.

“I had to go to therapy like 4 times a week. i also had to run a lot which was extremely tiring,” Avery said when asked on his recovery process.

“Avery last year had a major knee injury and my hats are off to him. He worked extremely hard in the weight room. He did everything he was asked in treatment and rehab. he has done a great job coming back,” Coach Robe said when asked on what Avery had to do on his recovery process.

“I think anytime you have experience you’re so much better. Next year is going to be a year that is going to be special because we get a lot of those guys back. we have a lot of juniors and sophomores back and to have him back with that 1 year of playing under his belt will be tremendous for us because he will be that senior leader,” Coach Robe said when asked how will it be like to have Avery back with a year of playing time.

From Press Play Productions and I, we hope to see Avery Wagner fighting back even stronger next year.
