Arc Reflection

LULING, LA- Our project was for The Arc of St. Charles. It was to help show that they help people with disabilities get a job in the work force. We had to do some research on The Arc to know what we have to do for the video. We had a meeting with Kelsey to see what she wanted exactly in the videos. She told us what she wanted and the next day we went to go film.

On this project I thought it was nice that we were doing the videos on people with a disability. I think they should always get a chance to shine and be known for what they were doing. While filming the video I liked that we had the chance to interview some of the people. During filming I didn’t like that it was so quick and that people had to leave, so we couldn’t get the footage that we wanted. I learned that if you do not have enough video from filming, you just have to deal with it and make the video.

For the first time working with an outside client was good. It wasn’t as hard as you think it would be. With the people I had in my group I felt like we worked pretty well together. We all had the same ideas, so doing the video was easy. My group didn’t really face any challenges. I feel like I had a big involvement in this project. My involvement made our project a success because I put a lot of thought on it and put work into it.

We had a lot if expectations for our video. We didn’t meet that expectation, but the video still came out good. I felt like our video was neither better or worse than any of the other videos. We could’ve did some more work on it but it was good. The feedback we received from the other groups helped a lot. If we did not receive that feedback then the video would’ve been bad. When we gave feedback to the other groups I can tell that they listened to what we had to say and made the changed to their video.

If I had to do this project all over again I would get more camera shot and do it in different angles and interview more people. By doing that the video would’ve been way nicer. For next year if they do a project like this again I would tell Mr.Robinson to make more time for the videos and to make sure that all the workers would be at the place when they are filming. If not the video wouldn’t have all the correct things it need and it will be hard for them to see what they want in their video. If I had the chance to comeback and talk to next year students about this project I would tell them to make sure they have a script ready and to be ready for anything. Because things do not always come out as planned.
