Arc of St.Charles Reflection Web Journal

Christopher Brand

Lulling, LA- This project was a PSA for the Arc of St.Charles and there 5 different enterprises. The enterprise my group was given the Lawn Care business. To start this project we did research on the Arc and met the client to receive their expectations and their goals. We then filmed and edited the video. Following that we got feedback from our client on how to better improve our video. We then revised our video and represented them to her.

My overall thought on this video was I learned a lot about filming and editing because I never edited a video on my own. I also enjoyed working with outside clients. I did not like having to travel to film because we were on a time crunch and it was also hard to get a lot of footage of someone cutting grass.  I also did not like the lack of time we had to edit because of all the other projects that were being worked on at the time of the Arc PSA video.

It was cool working with outside clients because it is more like the real world. Our group worked well together we each had different jobs to do and we all took care of those jobs and did them to the best of our abilities. I was extremely involved with this project being I helped film and I edited and entire video nearly by myself. My contribution to the group helped a lot because I kind of kept the group on track.

I met the expectations I had when I went into the project. I set high expectations due to the fact it was a outside client and we had to be more professional. I feel our video was as good if not better than other groups. Ours was better because we did not make as many errors as the other groups. We took the feedback given to edit our video and make it better. You could tell other groups did not listen to feedback.

If I did this video again I would have got more footage while filming. Next year for this project maybe we should go to the arc and interact with the people first so they are not as nervous to be in the videos. I would tell the future people doing this project to listen to the clients demands regardless of how crazy they sound.
