Hahnville Is In the Driver’s Seat

Brandon Thomas

Luling, LA- This past Friday the red hot Hahnville fighting Tigers traveled to Joe Keller Memorial Stadium in Reserve, LA to take on the resilient  East St. John Wildcats. The Tigers (who have not played a home game in three weeks) showed up to the stadium with bad intentions: looking to silence doubters, eliminate a roadblock in East St. John, and take control of district 7 5a. Well, the Tigers took care of business beating East St. John 27-0. Behind the dominant o-line, as always Jha’quan Jackson #4 was illusive, and the firecracker known as “Pooka” Williams #7 was spectacular on offense; however the utter dominance of the Tiger defense is not to be ignored. The incredible play of  Lyncoy Reynaud Jr. #90 tallied 2 sacks, and batted 3 passes, and Khalil Mason #26 ran the no fly zone secondary shutting down East St. John’s passing attack with 2 interceptions. Bringing the Tigers’ turnover total to 4 for the night. This win puts Hahnville in the driver’s seat of the district, only having to defeat Central Lafourche, and H.L. Bourgeois to be crowned district 7 5a champions for the first time since 2012. After defeating rival Destrehan 20-13, Terrebonne 52-35, Thibodaux 41-13, and recently demolishing East St. John 27-0; I would have to believe it’s safe to say that Coach Nick Saltafromaggio’s fighting Tigers are in control of their destiny.
