Sports Production Analysis: Side-Line Reporters

Jordan-Kay Gros

LULING, LA- For this assignment, I had to watch 10 minutes from 2 different football games and focus on the side-line reporters for each game. I had to critique them, and say what went well and what can be improved for future games. To start off, some things that can be improved would be to avoid saying “um” a lot. Another things is to make sure that you pretend you are live at all times and to make sure you do not make faces because you never really know if you are on air. The reporters need to make sure that they hold the mic close enough to them through out the whole report so that the audience can clearly hear what they are reporting. However, the side-line reporters did do a good job at being interactive and enthusiastic with the audience. They were also good at recovering well after a mess up while reporting.
