Haunted History Hike Project Launch – Past Years Analysis

Sage Blackledge

LULING, LA – My favorite video of the four we reviewed from last year was the one titled “Haunted History Hike Promo – The Town of LaBranche.” I liked that it had interesting shots and differed from the others in that it also had the title graphics with the black background that told a story. The difference between this one and the other ones was that this one had a specific story, and because of the cuts to the descriptive title graphics, the video never got boring to watch. The others would drag on in certain areas or just not establish any specific narrative at all. The purpose of this video was very clear by the end because they tied it to the Haunted History Hike with the idea that you could learn about this lost town that the video told the story of at the hike. It made it an effective advertisement in that it made you want to go to the hike itself and not just feel generally “scared” by a video resembling a generic short horror story.
