DHS-Slidell Broadcast Analysis

Bracey Darensbourg

Some positives from the second quarter of DHS V.S. Slidell was I liked how the director switched from a tight shot to a wide shot. It allowed the viewers to see the play from the different angles. Something else that was a positive was the audio made the audience feel as if the viewer was there. There was natural sound that had the full friday night football feel to it.

Even though there were some great things that occurred during the quarter, there is still somethings that we could work on. Something that needs improvement is the graphics.  The graphics is a little late when showing point(s) added on the board. Also the graphics need to add the time on them, and when different things like flags and downs occur, graphics needs to show the calls. Along with graphics, the announcers could use some improvement.  Something that could be improved is that they need to talk more during replays. They need to speak upon the play during this time. Maybe they can make assumptions on why the play went the way that it did, etc. Something else that the announcers can improve on is to speak clearer and more confident. They sound soft spoken and scared. This may make the viewer feel uncomfortable or make them feel that the announcers are untrustworthy and that’s not what the production wants.
