Purposes in filming

BOUTTE, LA – Remembering the purpose of your video helps in persuading your audience to act in whatever way you are advocating for by making them feel involved. With the Pink Links, showing that donating helps breast cancer victims and survivors in specific ways appealed much more to me as a viewer and potential buyer than just saying “Buy a Link” and dancing. We can ensure we keep our purpose in mind by depicting it in our PSA’s as the focus of our video. We can show before-and-after effects of taking action or the impact of doing things like the Haunted History Tours. Showing individual cases and experiences also had a strong effect for me, so trying to include that as much as possible could also help us create successful PSA’s as opposed to broadly stating facts throughout our videos. Most of all, we should try to actually reach our audiences and persuade them of the importance of our PSA programs.
