BOUTTE, LA – The Hahnville Tigers muscled past the Denham Springs YellowJackets Friday night in the first round of the playoffs, winning 42-21.

The Tigers had some trouble in the start of the game, but proved that they were a better team by scoring 42 points. Five of those touchdowns came from their star running back, Pooka Williams. The Tigers rushing attack was unstoppable led by Williams and Jackson.

The Tiger defense stoned the Yellow Jackets offense forcing 3 turnovers. The defensive line was unstoppable with senior end Lyncoy Reynaud racking up 4 sacks. The tigers also got two interceptions one from Linebacker Dylan Dejean and another from safety Hunter LeBlanc.

The Tiger defense made the offenses job a lot easier by forcing turnovers allowing the offense to get the ball on the plus side of the field. All in all a very strong showing for the Tigers.

Denham Springs is eliminated from playoff contention, while the tenth-ranked Tigers travel Friday to seventh-ranked Ruston.
