VIDEO: DHS Coach “Right where we wanted to be.”

This week on the weekly On The Prowl show, Destrehan head coach Stephen Robeicheaux sat down with Asia Jupiter and talked about the Wildcats big win over the quality John Ehret Patriots.

“They have tremendous athletes.”

Six Division I athletes make up the Ehret defense and even without their Missouri bound quarterback, Ca’Ron Baham, were still able to score offensively. Stabilizing the playmakers and not letting them make big plays sealed Destrehan’s big win. To do that, Coach stopped the run and established the run.

A Dynamic Playmaker

Chad Serrano makes plays on offense and defense. The highlight this week was a strip for a touchdown. Prepare for him to come strong this week against the Tigers, if not him, the Wildcats has talent to pick up that slack. Serrano splits time with offense and defense at practice.  Other playmakers to watch out for are Jayce Stroud and C.J. Prieto.

Preparing For Hahnville

The Wildcats are rolling along at 3-0 and are evading close games. The stability of this program is jaw-dropping. Coach likes to treat this week as any other week. The hardest part of the week isn’t routes or ball security drills; it’s keeping the outside distractions out. To keep the regular season two-year win streak going, the Wildcats will have to stay focused as they travel the over the Hale Boggs bridge to play the Tigers.
