VIDEO: HHS Head Coach, “We practiced poorly the entire week.”

Scott Tastet, Alumni Staff Writer

This week on the weekly On The Prowl show, Hahnville head coach Nick Saltaformaggio answered some questions about the 10-7 loss to Riverside.

“Sadly the outcome of the game didn’t really surprise me”

Lack of preparation was one of the many attributes that caused the Tigers to lose to the stout 2A Riverside Rebels. The Tigers had such a bad week of preparation that practice had to be restarted the day before the game. The Tigers must be prepared against outstanding opponents like Riverside in order to be victorious.

“We got pushed around a little bit and that’s unacceptable”

Riverside was able to control the line of scrimmage on offense for the majority of the game. To worsen that, Riverside has a quarterback that was 40 pounds and three inches taller than the players hitting him. Hahnville moved the ball in the second half but the lack of game management in the first half left the game a little out of reach for the Tigers.

Preparing for Destrehan

If preparation went as smoothly as it did against Riverside, winning a football game against a quality opponent like Destrehan will be a struggle. Between the two games that the Tigers played against the Wildcats last year, the Tigers greatly improved. With the struggles and lack of preparation Hahnville has been facing since the off season, the Tigers are facing a long week of practice.
